     Continued rapid industrialization and exponential increase in the world’s population are the major reasons for thedeterioration of the global environment. Forest ecosystems that are seriously affected by degradation in many regions in the world, take a prominent place in the debate on global ecosystem conservation and sustainable natural resources management. Especially, Northeast Asia can be regarded as one cultural area, in which any particular circumstance of one country has a significant effect on its adjacent countries. Mismanagement of forest resources possessing the feature of common property could have damaging effects on other ones’ sustainable development as well as environmental quality.
  
     Deforestation in Northeast Asia has become more urgent issue. For instance, most of countries in Northeast Asian region every year experience many events of yellow dust/ sand storms due to deforestation and desertification.
  
     To tackle this increasing problem on desertification and degradation of forest ecosystem, international cooperation would be very important to help in the stability and improvement of the ecosystem in the Northeast Asia.
