The 8th International Symposium on Gas Cleaning at High Temperatures will be held in Taiyuan, China from August 23 to 25, 2010.

Topics:
The symposium covers recent research and developments and represents trends on gas cleaning, particulate removal, and ash behaviour control for:
1.High efficiency coal and fossil fuel power generation systems
2.Biomass and solid waste combustion and gasification
3.Mobile sources such as diesel vehicles
Special sessions will focus on new environmental challenges associated with "hot" and "warm" gas cleaning:
1.Emissions of particulates (PM2.5/10), mercury and other trace elements
2.Emission control by dry scrubbing/absorbents and catalytic conversion
3.CO2 capture and utilization
4.Removal of SO2 and NOx from flue gas
Other specific topics include:
1.Sources, formation mechanisms, properties and measurement of particulate and gaseous components
2.Influence of particle properties, gas composition and operating conditions on dust collection process, cake structure and regeneration of filter media
3.Materials, structure, properties and testing of filter media
4.Operating experience in the process industries or advanced power generation
5.Gas cleaning and separation for fuel cells and other advanced power generation systems
6.Impact of new trends or policies in advanced power generation or industrial processes on hot gas cleaning technology
