美国次贷危机引发的全球金融风暴成为公司治理研究的重要背景，南开大学商学院、南开大学公司治理研究中心主办的以“金融危机与公司治理”为主题的第五届公司治理国际研讨会将于2009年9月5日——6日召开。
南开大学公司治理研究中心作为教育部人文社科重点研究基地，在教育部、国家自然科学基金委、天津市政府等单位的支持下，在国内外学者以及社会各界的关注下，已经成功举办了四届公司治理国际研讨会。连续四届在南开大学召开的公司治理国际研讨会，为国内外官、产、学、研各界了解和研究公司治理搭建了一个平台。历次会议都吸引了世界各国著名学者的参与，诺贝尔经济学奖获得者泽尔滕教授、莫里斯教授等学者都曾与会，大会还得到了成思危教授以及国资委、保监会、证监会、银监会、深圳证券交易所和上海证券交易所等相关部门领导和学者的高度关注和鼎力支持。2009年是重要的一年，在全球性金融危机的背景下探讨公司治理理论和实践问题，共商公司治理大计，对企业走出金融危机，寻找发展机遇具有重要的意义。为了完满地召开此次会议，大会组委会特向社会各界征文。
The global financial storm sprung from American sub-crime has become the important background for the study of corporate governance. The 5th International Symposium for Corporate Governance, hosted by Business School of Nankai University and the Center for Studies of Corporate Governance of Nankai University, will be held from Sep 5 to 6, 2009.
The Center for Studies of Corporate Governance of Nankai University, as the important study base of humanities and social sciences of Ministry of Education, supported by the Ministry of Education, the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), Tianjin Government and other institutions, concerned by scholars both at home and abroad as well as all sectors of society, has successfully held four international symposiums for corporate governance. These four consecutive international symposiums held at Nankai University have built a platform for governments, practical sectors, academia, and research community both at home and abroad to know and study corporate governance. The symposiums have attracted the participations of notable scholars from different countries in the world, including the Nobel Laureate in Economics, Reinhard Selten, James A. Mirrlees and so on. Also the symposiums have got great support and concern from Professor Cheng Siwei, leaders and scholars from State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission (SASAC), China Insurance Regulatory Commission (CIRC), China Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC), China Banking Regulatory Commission (CBRC), Shenzhen Stock Exchange, Shanghai Stock Exchange and other related departments. In the context of global financial crisis, to discuss the theory and practice of Corporate Governance has great sense for corporations to overcome the difficulties and look for development opportunities. As the 5th international symposium of Corporate Governance will be held during two days from Sep 5 to 6, 2009 at Nankai University, we call for papers here.

We have a special committee for manuscript review. The authors, whose papers are accepted, will be asked to make a lecture during the conference in public (please prepare PPT in advance). All the papers accepted by the conference will be recommended to the Journals as follow: Mangement World, Corporate Governance Evaluation, Nankai Management Review, Nankai Journal (Philosophy and Social Sciences edition), Nankai Economic Study, Tianjin Social Science and Papers of the 5th International Symposium of Corporate Governance. Authors, who do not want to publish the papers in the journals listed above, please label out in the manuscript!

Manuscripts in Chinese and English are both welcome. The English abstracts are required to be attached at the end of the paper if it is in Chinese. Please use Microsoft Word 2003 versions to have a typesetting. See the annex for detailed format requirement.
